What is the difference in the categories of "Petite", "Standard", and "Bold"?
Not all spoons are created equal but in the photos they can all look about the same size so it can be a challenge to know which ring to get made and which finger to wear it on. To help give some perspective on the physical size of the ring on the finger, each spoon was assigned to one of 3 categories. Take note of the category of each spoon you are interested in and consider it when choosing. Here is a general description of each of the 3 categories that will help you decide what design you might want and what finger you might want to wear it on.
PETITE - These are smaller spoons, mostly demitasse or small teaspoons. They are small but have some of the most interesting and beautiful designs. Generally, the maximum size for a Petite category is around 7 or maybe 8. They look great on any finger that will accommodate the size limit factor including the pinky. The look is, as the name implies, dainty or petite.
STANDARD - This is the standard size teaspoon or possibly a small tablespoon. They can generally accommodate any size or any finger, Depending on the design, these may look a bit large for a pinky, but that depends on the individual taste and hand.
BOLD - Like the Standard category, these are standard teaspoons or small tablespoons. These spoons however, have a large design. That means the main pattern on the handle end is larger and wider and makes a real statement on the hand. The bold category spoons are generally too big for a pinky but they work well on any other finger including the thumb.
